Actionbooth exploded onto Charlotte, NC for the 2nd year in a row being a part of promotions involving both Coke Zero AND Miller Lite. I got to meet a lot of great people, ran into some childhood friends, and really understood what it meant to be a student and member of the society of almuni of an HBCU. The trip was a little hectic and we didn't get to explore like we would have liked, but I'll be back with a full recap and pics/vid in a bit!

Today I stumbled upon a "Top 10 Chicago Indie Albums" post on the Chicago Tribune site and it included our friends Alex and Francis from Busy Beaver! Here's what Greg Kot had to say about the brother and sister duo named White Mystery:

Boy’s $12 monster drawings help fund his chemo

Hello fellow human beings,

Since Sept. 13, Aidan has been waging a battle against a monster that is all too real. That’s when doctors discovered he has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He’s spent weeks in the hospital and has endured chemotherapy, infections, spinal taps and other painful procedures.

To pass the time, he draws pictures of monsters. Dozens and dozens of them. Aidan’s drawings are so adorably scary that his aunt decided to post some of them on the website Etsy, where people buy and sell handmade artwork and other items. She wanted to do something — anything — to help Aidan and his family from a distance, so she figured she’d try to sell 60 prints to help defray their sudden and mounting expenses.

You know how it is really hard doing fun or amazing things with no expression on your face? Sometime we try to get people to ActionBooth with no expression and it seems to be one of the more difficult things we ask people to do. Now, look at these two. This is amazing! No expression on their faces but you know they want to smile and laugh while doing this routine. Mad props for the editing and the choreography of this routine.
